I am a Board Certified Couples and Family Psychologist (ABPP), who has been in practice for over 30 years. I have a special interest in working with couples and am a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) and supervisor. EFT is a systematic and structured approach that recognizes the primacy of emotions in organizing key interactional patterns. Studies show that 70% of couples working with an EFT therapist move from relationship distress to recovery during the course of the treatment. Approximately 90% show significant improvement.
I completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Institute for Rational-Emotive Therapy and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation – NYU Medical School. In addition, I served as a visiting clinical professor at UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and as a visiting professor at the graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology – Rutgers University. In 1997, I served as the President of the New Jersey Psychological Association and am currently the Chair of the NJ Board of Psychological Examiners.
